Our Favorite Toddler Books – Mrs. Bishop

Today I want to share with my my Son’s picks for his favorite stories. These are the books we read over and over again. I hope you can find some new favorites for your family from ours!

I love the imagination in the story, and how the book flows. It’s easy to read, but cute enough that even I get a chuckle. My son is obsessed with vehicles of any kind- so this is definitely a hit. I love the retro feel, and he loves the pictures. This is a bed time fave around here.

My son loves all of the Skippyjon Jones books, but this one is his favorite. ir?t=mrsb0c 20&l=li3&o=1&a=0525479651I am not gonna lie, these books don’t flow as well for me to read, but he loves them. They’re funny and Skippyjon goes on some crazy adventures. My son always seems to get a kick out of the bad guys in the stories, and they all teach him a few spanish words here and there.

It’s a short and sweet, more poem-like story of a late night in the city with a baby. Again, it has cars so my son is entertained and it reminds me of those long, sleepless nights when my baby WAS a baby. We still read this book weekly, and probably will for the next couple of years.

My Hubby and I bought Boss Baby when our son was really little, because we spotted it in a tiny toy store and laughed out loud when reading it. ir?t=mrsb0c 20&l=li3&o=1&a=1442401672It portrays the baby as the boss, sitting at his desk and barking orders. This would be a great gift for new parents, or to a sibling getting ready to be a big brother or sister. It’s really funny, but still short enough to be a quick bedtime read. An entire family favorite at our house.

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=0142501123&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=mrsb0c 20Room on the Broom is in our weekly rotation as well. This book is so good- and not just at Halloween time. They made an animated movie of it, which my son LOVES, and we saw before purchasing this book. And now he can re-live it through the story. The film and the story have the exact same dialogue, which I also love, because he knows all the words and can imagine it all played out. I love reading this, and have it memorized- I don’t even need to look at the pages anymore. ir?t=mrsb0c 20&l=li3&o=1&a=0142501123Pick this one up for your kiddos, and you’ll get a few laughs yourself.

We have a lot of favorites in our house, and we all love reading. I’ll share our seasonal favorites this year as well. What are your kiddos’ favorite books? Or your favorites to read to them?
