On this week’s Mommy Monday I want to share a secret with you…

We are a family of gamers.

My husband is a lover of all things Nintendo, and I have 3 brothers, so I can hold my own in just about any game.

While my hubby and I were playing a game together the other night, I thought it would be nice to share some of our favorite games that we like to play as a family with you. Most are more advanced for my 3 year old, but I have a whole gang of nephews that love to play. So here are some of our favorite Family Friendly game picks for the Wii U:
Mario Kart 8: This game is a huge hit with adults and kids alike. If you’re not familiar with the more old school Mario Kart games, you were totally missing out as a kid! Grab this and prepare to battle some kiddos- or your hubby. This game is serious fun for the whole family.

SplatoonIf your Hubby or teen is into first person shooters, but you don’t want that violent type of game around your littles, look into this game. It is a non-violent shooter that has the players spraying each other with paint rather than bullets. A fun family- friendly alternative that your while family will enjoy.

Super Smash Bros: If you’re looking for a fighting game that you can feel comfortable letting kiddos of all ages play, pick up this game. You can choose to fight with some of your favorite characters, in a variety of ways, by yourself or on teams. We LOVE this game at our house, and have spent countless hours playing with kids and adults alike. It’s definitely a game that all ages will enjoy.

Any of the Lego Games: (Some are for the Wii but will also work on the WiiU) These games are super cute and fun for all ages. Because you don’t “die” or don’t have to start over, they’re great even for the smaller kids. And the stories are actually fun to watch. I myself even enjoy playing them from time to time.

So, that’s just a few of our faves- what are some of your favorite games to play as a family?

Stay tuned…starting next week there will be some guest posters for Mommy Monday! Can’t wait to share some other amazing Blogging Mommas with you!

I like this list! My 6 year old LOVES Mario. Her favorite game is Animal Crossing. I have been playing for 3-4 years and she recently got into it. It’s real time with the outside world (so as long as your time settings are correct, if it’s nighttime where you are, it’s nighttime on the game). There are different things to do in each season (building a snowman in the winter, catching fireflies in the summer, Easter Egg hunts on Easter, etc), and you can earn money by collecting and selling fruit. The only time you get hurt is if you get stung by a bee or scorpion, which is rare.

Another great game we like to play together is Legend of Zelda (Ocarina of Time is our favorite, but we also love Link to the Past and the original.. although all are fun those are our favorites!) I’ve been a Zelda geek since I was her age and my mom would play. It’s so fun replaying all of the games with my daughter that I played with my mother. My daughter is sensitive to “scary”, but doesn’t have any issues with these games.

I’m gonna have to check out Super Smash Brothers! I see Link from Zelda there and I think we would love it!

I LOVE Animal Crossing, the only reason I didn’t include it was because it’s only one player. We are totally Zelda geeks too <3
