The recipe was for <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Apple-Cranberry-Crisp-2\/Detail.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apple Cranberry Crisp<\/a>. I love apple crisps, and I\u2019ve also been doing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crazydomestic.com\/2010\/12\/homey-goodness-challenge-week-2-of-5.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Homey Goodness Challenge<\/a> over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crazydomestic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Crazy Domestic<\/a>. One of the challenges is to make something with apples, so here goes. I posted the recipe, but I\u2019ll go ahead and write how I made it:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\nApple Cranberry Crisp<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     2 pounds Granny Smith apples \u2013 peeled, cored and thinly sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     3\/4 cup cranberries<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     1\/4 cup white sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     3 teaspoons ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     1 teaspoon ground nutmeg<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     1\/3 cup quick-cooking oats<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     1\/3 cup all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     1\/2 cup packed light brown sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     1\/4 cup butter, cut into pieces<\/li>\n<li class=\"plaincharacterwrap\">                     1\/2 cup chopped pecans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"directions\" style=\"margin-top: 10px;\">\n<h3>\n             Directions<\/h3>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n                     1.) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C.) Butter an 8 inch square baking dish.(I used a round, deep dish pie pan, and it worked really well).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"directions\" style=\"margin-top: 10px;\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n                     2.) In a large bowl, mix together apples, cranberries,  white sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. With a fork, mix in butter until crumbly. Stir in pecans. The pecans were super crunchy, and gave it a nice flavor. It looked like there was a lot of cinnamon in the recipe, but it turned out to be the perfect amount. The Granny Smith Apples held up really well, and still had a slight crunch, but were tender and sweet. The cranberries burst while baking and added their own sweetness as well. The cider was also a nice compliment.
