Let’s be honest. I love shopping and I love clothes. But, as a stay-at-home Mom my clothing budget is not huge. I buy almost everything on sale, and I’m totally okay with that because I get a little thrill out of a good deal. As a one income family, I like to be able to stretch my budget any way I can. So, today I am going to share with you a few ways that I transition my Summer clothes so that they work for Fall as well! This post isn’t sponsored or anything, I just grabbed some of my favorite pieces out of my closet. I hope that these tips help you save a little and still look chic this season! Here’s my Summer to Fall Fashion Tips:

Tip #1: Don’t Pack Up Your White Pants

"fall-fashion-white-jeans"Whoever said ‘no white after Labor Day’ obviously wasn’t on a budget! I say keep those cute white skinnies in your wardrobe and pair them with a cute plaid (or gingham) tunic. Or even a comfy sweater. Add some cute accessories and you’ve stretched these bad boys straight on through another season. I like rose gold for Fall- it just warms everything up, so I’ll be sporting it with most of my outfits. I’d probably pair this with some colorful flats in a warm Autumn color!

Tip #2: Get Some Cute Summer Dresses on Clearance

"fall-fashion-sweater-booties"I got this dress for $9 the other day at Old Navy. I loved the orange and thought it would perfectly transition to Autumn. Pair it with a neutral sweater and some cute booties and you’re set!

"fall-fashion-jacket-scarf"Don’t underestimate the power of your staple denim jacket and a cute scarf either- I *may* own this scarf in 9 colors…Some more masculine lace-ups make this feel a little less dressy, but still super cute (and warm) for the chillier days.

Tip #3: Put Your Blacks and Browns on the Same Team

"fall-fashion-black-brown"I used to think wearing black and brown together was a big fashion no-no, but I’m learning and growing… The browns warm up a cool all black look, and make them feel much more seasonal. It didn’t show up well in this pic- but these flats almost perfectly match the tan pattern on this top. It feels so much more autumn-y with the pops of warmer color.

I love being able to style my pieces so they work for more than one season. That way, when I purchase new clothes I feel like I’m getting a little more bang for my buck! What are some ways you transition your favorite pieces through the seasons? I’d love to hear your fashion tips and tricks!
