I’m finishing off my Girl’s Trip posts by talking about ALL of what we ate (and drank) in Brown County. There is no shortage of eateries, wineries, breweries, and coffee shops in Brown County. Not to mention several ice cream places we didn’t even hit up because we literally had NO more room in our stomachs…. NEXT TIME!

Wine

I already mentioned all of the wineries- some had free tastings, or they were free if you purchased a bottle. Others were like $5- which is a cheap way to try all of their different blends so you can pick a favorite. Here’s my favorites from the wineries we tried (I do have to share that I’m all about sweet wines so if you’re more of a dry wine gal- this list ain’t for you).

Brown County Winery– Vista Rosé- it’s made with Catawba grapes which are my favorite!

Chateau Thomas Winery– I really liked the Strawberry Blush: bonus, it comes in a super cute bottle. But, I’m pretty sure I liked ALL of the ones I tried there- because we tried pretty much all of the sweet ones they had.

Salt Creek Winery– Their Peach Wine and Cherry Rosè were winners!

I wish I took more photos of these experiences- but it was pouring buckets at this point so keeping my camera dry was a priority.

Coffee

We also sampled coffee from a couple of places. The Daily Grind was my favorite. They had a big menu with non-dairy options available (which wasn’t true for every place that sold coffee and I REALLY appreciated that!) They also had some amazing looking pastries and muffins that were like the size of your head. If I hadn’t already nommed on breakfast, I would’ve partaken in some of those.

Common Grounds was another coffee place we stopped at. The coffee was pretty good and the atmosphere has a very bohemian type vibe. You could hang out, read, sort through records, or put together a puzzle. A lot of people were just hanging out and talking- which gave it a homey feel.

Food

Our Sandwich Place is a Nashville staple. I’ve been there several times over the years and it never disappoints.

"our

They sweetly gave my friends and I a gift card so we could swing by for lunch before we left town- and our food was a hit.

""

I had a BLT that was delicious and some extra crunchy crinkle fries which are my favorite, any day of the week. My friends also grabbed soups and sandwiches and devoured their lunches as well.

"sandwiches"

My son and Hubby stopped by and joined us too- and I’ve never seen my little guy eat so much lunch. He scarfed down their mac and cheese and chicken breast. He gave it 2 thumbs up- which is high praise in his book.

""

The decor is ALL IU and Bobby Knight stuff- because this IS Indiana after all. It’s a fun, kitschy, delicious place to grab some lunch and I highly recommend it!

We had dinner at Hard Truth Hills– and though I didn’t snap any photos, I did put the experience on my Instagram Highlights if you want to check it out!

While we were there, I had *maybe* one of the most delish cocktails I’ve ever tasted- the Crimson Sour. It was: Hard Truth Cinnamon Vodka, St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur, honey syrup, lemon, and cranberry juice. The combo of cinnamon and citrus sounded weird to me at first. But, OH MAN! It was tasty. My fish and chips and pulled pork nachos appetizer were really good too. I’ve been dreaming about their Truffle Parm fries (and cursing because I left my to go box ON THE TABLE!!!). I hadn’t even heard of this place until some locals recommended it- and I am so glad they did!

We’ll be back, because it’s less than 30 minutes from where I live. I WILL get more of those fries. And that cocktail. Priorities.

Breakfast

Honorable Mention to Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Rolls where my Hubby and son had lunch when they dropped me off. We only went because Steven’s favorite brand of cinnamon rolls are called ‘ooey gooey’ so he was intrigued. It’s the tiniest, most adorable little place- and their cinnamon rolls were TO DIE FOR. Giant, homemade, and covered in caramel-y goodness. Steven has already asked about going back.

Don’t forget Cornerstone Inn for breakfast. I talked all about it in my last post!

Like I said, there are so many amazing and delicious places to eat- you need to spend a week there to hit them all. But, I hope you consider the places I mentioned because they were all great ones to choose. There is a pizza/pasta type restaurant I want to try next time, because my old fave closed down and it’s in the same building. So, I’ll be driving through there soon and stopping to try a calzone.

Have you ever been to Brown County? What is your favorite place to grab a bite? I’ll add it to my list for next time!

Pin it for later:
