Tuesday Top 10 #9- Weekly Faves – Mrs. Bishop

{My bestie This Messy Season and I started a series together -Tuesday Top 10. In which we share 10 of our faves from each week. These can be any 10 things that we’ve been loving, and I hope you keep tuning in to see what we come up with next! Some of these products may have been sent to me and these posts may contain affiliate links- thanks so much for helping support my blog and family! }

This weekend was DIY central at the Bishop house. We knocked out a few projects we’ve been wanting to get done, and of course added a few more to the list. It’s a neverending to-do list….But, I still have a few faves for you this week. {Including one of those projects!}

1.) My DIY Midcentury Modern shelves is definitely one of my faves this week. I found a similar project on Pinterest and knew I had to DIY some for myself. I wanted an inexpensive way to have a wall of bookshelves, that would also fit our Midcentury Modern theme in our family room. I think we crushed it. They are awesome and were SO much cheaper than buying bookshelves.

2.) Sometimes I need a good laugh- and this video from Kelly Vrooman (yes, Kelly from old school Sprout- she saved us a bunch when my son was a baby!) is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen in a long time. Think Drunk History- but with little kids…re-telling the story of The Princess Bride. Watch it, you’ll have a nice laugh. Adding it to my video faves!

3.) My skin has been so confused this year. I feel like a teenager all over again with all the breakouts and weird spots. I grabbed this Physician’s Formula Vitamin C Brightening Facial Oil Stick on sale (at KROGER of all places!) and I”m loving it. It goes on like a stick product but rubs in so easily like a facial oil. It’s hydrating but not too greasy, and it’s helping with my rough and flaky patches. I love the way it smells and am happily adding it to my daily routine. It’s also SPF 30 which is always a plus in my book. The more sun protection in a product, the better!

4.) Oliver Winery- one of my favorite local wineries, released their new Blueberry Moscato and- YUM! I’m a huge fan of their Cherry Moscato and I may like this one even better. Stocking up for the Spring, because it’s the perfect fruity wine for warmer weather.

5.) This week we’re taking ‘Spring Break’. We’re homeschoolers so we don’t have to do this, but I thought the student AND the teacher needed a break. We spent our first day catching up on Spring cleaning while the little dude built Legos pretty much all day long. He didn’t even bother me at all, he was so busy building. So, Spring Break is definitely one of my faves this week.

6.) Along with my Physician’s Formula haul I also grabbed this Butter Eyeshadow Palette. Some of the colors in this palette are my new faves- there are also a few I don’t love. {Let me know if you want me to share an IGTV video talking about them.} The shades I love are buttery and super pigmented and just like that butter formula that we all love. The colors are great for Spring and Summer.

7.) I wanted some cute and small notebooks that I could toss in my purse when we take our Summer roadtrips so I can make notes and jot down anything I don’t want to forget to share with you from our trips. I found this set at TJ Maxx and think they’re perfect for traveling with!

8.) I’m falling back in love with the art of handwritten letters and notes. Even just a few lines in a card totally makes my day. So, I’m going to get back into sending handwritten mail to people because it just feels special, to get something from someone in the mail letting them know they took a moment out of their day to think of you. SO much better than an email!

9.) I’m not sure if it’s one of my faves just yet- but I FINALLY started reading A Certain Age by Beatriz Williams and I’m enjoying it so far. It’s set during my favorite time period- the 20’s. So that already gives it a leg up in my book. I’ll let you know how it is once I finish it.

10.) Mikey and I started watching the Grown Ups movies again- 1 and 2. I forgot how funny they are! We find ourselves laughing out loud and quoting them often. They’re a great date night in movie because you’ll laugh but don’t have to pay too much attention to them. I also think it’s hilarious that Adam Sandler makes family comedies now- because ya know, he’s middle aged.

So nothing crazy this week, but lots of faves as per the usual. I’m thinking next week I might do a themed favorites just for funsies. What do you think?
