If you follow me on social media, you’ve already seen the news. We packed up and headed out West, well South-West that is… to Arkansas (I was trying to throw a Beverly Hillbillies reference in there, but it falls a little flat…). Little Rock to be more specific. We’ve did move 3 years ago to Columbus- but this is our biggest move yet!
Hubby got a big promotion, we put our house on the market, and made the move all in a 2 week time span. During a global pandemic I might add. we always go big or go home. And it all happened so fast I still haven’t had much time to actually process it yet.
Neither of us had ever been to Arkansas before, so we really had no idea what to expect. So far we’ve concluded: the people are really nice here- which is comforting because most people in Indiana are friendly too, the state is beautiful- trees and hills everywhere, and I love hearing all the accents. We’re the ones that sound funny now!
On the downside- they don’t have Aldi here (but they do have Trader Joes in Little Rock!) so I’ll be looking for an alternative. And we’re very far from family- but we’re hoping to set up visits often.
Right now we’re in a corporate apartment until our house sells. And honestly, it’s kinda nice. It’s fully furnished and our stuff is in storage. The smaller house and no yard to take care of gives us a lot less to worry about. And the state is opening up more this week- so we can try some of the food people keep telling us is delicious!
Have you ever been to Little Rock, or Arkansas at all? Tell me ALL the things! Where do I need to go, what do I need to eat? And what do I need to pick up from Trader Joes?!
