Sorry for the short bloggy hiatus- I’ve been pretty sick, and hubby has been taking care of both me and my little man. Feeling much, much better, so here it goes…
First, here’s a pic of my halloween-y wreath from my previous post, finished with the spiders…
I thought it turned out kind of cute. VERY simple, and kinda spooky
On to my newest project…my Fall Throw Pillow…made out of a place mat. It’s super easy, and something that even someone with my poor sewing skills can pull off.
All you need is your place mat (I got mine from Big Lots for really cheap), some Poly-Fil, a seam ripper, and a needle and thread.
Isn’t my little sewing basket so cute? I got that for Christmas a few years ago- when I first decided I liked crafting. |
Next, you rip out some seams of your place mat, in an area where it won’t show too bad, a hole just big enough to stuff your Poly Fill into. Mine had to be a little bigger because I had to get into all the little nooks and crannies that this place mat had.
Then you stuff that baby until it’s fluffy like a pillow, but not too fluffy so that it pulls.
Cute, eh? |
Then you sew your little seam back up with a needle and thread.
And, voila! An adorable little, inexpensive fall addition to any room.
I may have to make a few more of these, and have leaves all around my living room!
Check out my Christmas Placemat Throw Pillow.
Keep a look out for some more sewing projects in some future posts, gonna be sewing a couple of Christmas presents in the near future…
