Marriage Tip: How to Flirt With Your Husband – Mrs. Bishop

I know I mostly share Mom tips with you- but today I want to share some tips on making your marriage better. I celebrated my anniversary this week, and it got me to thinking maybe I should share some advice. How to flirt with your husband.

I know it’s been said plenty of times. Over and over again. But, even I have to remind myself…

The importance of flirting with your husband.

This one little tidbit can lessen fights. Make days more exciting. And ultimately save marriages.

I think back to when my husband and I were dating. How we always flirted with each other. Reached for each other’s hands under the table. “Made eyes” at each other across the room. Whispered to each other in passing.

How exciting it was to just be in the presence of one another. We lavished attention on each other, and really listened when we talked.

And then we got married. Got tangled up in the monotony of day to day life. Bills, money, to-do lists. All of the little details. It’s easy to let things get stagnant. To stop kissing each other goodbye. To watch television at night instead of having deep conversations. To get complacent.

But, no more.

I find that when I flirt with my husband, he reciprocates. He flirts back. We smile more. Really talk to each other over dinner. Share in each others’ joys and worries. Feel like cuddling up when watching a movie together…which can lead to………………………

It’s our job as a wife to make our husband feel wanted. I’m preaching to myself here. It’s easy to, as soon as my husband walks in the door,  throw all of my day’s frustrations at him. To complain, and ask him to help right away. But, give him a minute. Some time to decompress. It will make a huge difference.

He will look forward to coming home. Will want to come in the door, spin you around, and kiss you. That’s how it works at my house, at least. When I give him what he needs- he is more likely to fulfill mine.

So, next time your husband walks past you- pat him on the butt. If he’s helping with dinner, whisper in his ear. Give him the eyebrow raise at dinner. This tiny little change on your part, can reap endless rewards. Want your Hubby to complete that to-do list? Instead of nagging…give him a little motivation ladies! You know what I’m sayin’?

Make him feel wanted, and he will make you feel wanted.

It’s one of the smallest, easiest things you can do to improve your marriage.

I am by no means an expert, and struggle with all of the typical things in my marriage. But, I’ve been happily married for 8 years now- and hoping for many many more.
