Oh no she didn’t!
Oh yes, I did!!!
COOKIE BUTTER PUPPY CHOW.
…
If you know me, you know I have an affinity for the deliciousness that only comes from Trader Joe’s (located approximately 2 hours away from me). Then the other night I had some Puppy Chow that a friend made, and I had an epiphany.
What would this taste like with Cookie Butter?
It didn’t take long before I decided to find out.
All Puppy Chow recipes start with the same basic ingredients.
Your “sticky” ingredient (usually Peanut Butter). Then chocolate chips- I used white, as I thought it would taste better with the cookie butter. Powdered sugar. And your cereal. I just used generic rice chex. Then, I forgot to picture the butter…don’t forget butter.
You take your cereal, measure it out and set it aside.
Then take your butter, Cookie Butter, and White Chocolate Chips and melt together. This happens quickly. I threw the butter in, let it pretty much get completely melted, then added the cookie butter. I added the chips last, then took off the heat and stirred until it melted. Chocolate, especially white chocolate can scorch quickly, so it’s safer to just let the residual heat melt it.
You go ahead an pour it over your cereal that’s been measured out. (Some people add in vanilla at this point, but I didn’t think about it, and it was really good without it).
Then carefully stir until the cereal is completely coated- here’s a close up of this melty goodness:
Then, separate your mixture into 2 gallon baggies.
Pour your powdered sugar over the top.
And shake, shake, shake, shake……until the cereal is completely coated.
You’re immediately going to want to pour some into a bowl and dig in!
Leave the baggies open until it is completely cool and then zip them up and it’ll keep quite nicely.
Try not to eat it all in one day!
And make sure to stock up on extra cookie butter next time so you can make more of this deliciousness…
