The Little French Bistro by Nina George
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The Little French Bistro is brought to you by the same author who wrote The Little Paris Bookshop- one of my favorite reads from last year. Nina George is an expert at writing characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with. Marianne is the perfect flawed main character. She starts her story off by trying to end her own life. And along the way, with the help of quite the colorful cast of characters- she finds her reasons to live. And they’re not necessarily what you might think! I loved the peppering of French recipes, and the descriptions of the ‘edge of the world’. Beautiful French seasides and snippets of Paris. Reading about the locales was my favorite part- they sound perfectly lovely. And just about have me planning my next vacation! I love that she even included tips on visiting this part of France at the end of her book, as well as some of the recipes that Marianne learns to cook. A delightful, quick read- perfect for anyone who needs an escape from the mundane!
