So I’ve mentioned a few times that we were moving- but what I didn’t mention is WHERE we were going. Because of my Hubby’s job, we were asked if we would like to transfer, and we said yes. It’s not a cross-country move or anything, but still a big commitment for us. We moved about an hour and a half away from where we’ve called home for the last 10 years. Packed up our things, said see ya later to our friends, and made our way to a new town.
Columbus.
I had never even been to this city more than a handful of times- and mostly just drove through it, so I didn’t have many pre-conceived notions about it. But, so far we are loving it! It’s a diverse area with a lot of activities, and it’s close to bigger cities for even more fun. We absolutely love our new neighborhood, and the neighbors. Also- I am within 5 minutes of a Target, Hobby Lobby, and a TJ Maxx, so obviously I am set!
The downside is that it puts us farther away from our families. But, a little closer to our fave grandparents (all the praise hands for amazing great-grandparents for your kiddos!). However, we’re still close enough for semi-frequent visits.
We were so ready for a new experience and can’t wait to see where this next chapter in our lives takes us. I’m researching schools and homeschooling, unpacking, decorating, shopping, re-modeling, and keeping myself pretty busy these days. I pretty much don’t sit down until I conk out on the couch at 8 pm- but I’m loving it!
I’m still going to blog regularly- probably mostly about house-related stuff for awhile. You can still read my Mommy posts on the Bloomington Moms Blog, and I have a few new videos in the works. So stay with me as we check out some fun local places, decorate our new home, try to make healthy recipes, and explore the idea of homeschool- yikes!
We’re truly playing a whole new ball-game in a brand new city!
