My Current Favorite Winter Hair Products – Mrs. Bishop

*Disclaimer- I received some of these products as PR, others I purchased with my own money. I will disclose what was sent to me with a *. All opinions are my own.*

While I tend to stick to the same Hair Care, I do like to switch up my products, just like I do to my skincare for the colder, drier months. I try to maybe wash a little less and use more oils and moisturizing products. As well as making sure I change up my cleansing routine, because my scalp gets a lot more dry and itchy this time of year.

Anyone else?

So I rounded up all of the products I’m currently using so I could share them with you!

First of all, I recently changed up something that I never thought I needed to change. And it has made a WORLD of difference. My hairbrush! Who would’ve thought?

goody-clean-radiance-paddle-brush

I picked up this Goody Clean Radiance Paddle Brush on a whim and I am SO glad that I did! I’ve heard that copper bristles help with adding shine to the hair, but I never really put much stock into it. But, as soon as I started using this brush I noticed a huge difference in how shiny my hair was, and how much LESS frizzy as well.  I’m loving this brush for the Winter months when my hair is static-y and dry, and I’m going to keep on purchasing copper bristled brushes from here on out. I am a copper convert.

dragontamer

If you’ve been following me for any length of time- you know that Pacifica Styling products are really my holy grail. I use the Native Flower Nourishing Hair Oil after every single time I wash my hair. But, I started using the Dragon Tamer Invisible Anti-Frizz Serum when I ran out, and I’m enjoying it as well. I don’t like how it pours out of the package so quickly, but the results when I use it are similar. It’s great for in a pinch, because this frizzy mop needs something to tame it down.

arganoilAdding an oil to your Winter hair care routine is always a good idea. Especially if you’ve got dry everything like I do! This *Virgin Argan Oil from Ko & Humble is a great oil to use. Not only does it leave your hair feeling soft and shiny, it also works wonders on your skin and nails. I love having a product that I can use in multiple ways, especially when it works so well in all of them. Check out all of Ko and Humble’s oils, because you can’t go wrong with any of them!

nym-clean-freak-dry-shampooNot to sound like a broken record, but when you have dry hair…… it’s also super important not to over-wash. If you have a dry scalp and you are shampooing every day, you’re doing it all wrong. That’s where my BFF Dry Shampoo comes in. I am obsessed with this Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo from Not Your Mother’s. I try to go 2-3 days between shampoos, and this baby helps that be a possibility. If my roots are looking greasy, or I need a little volume- it’s this stuff to the rescue! I even carry a travel size in my purse. It’s inexpensive, I can pick it up at the drugstore, and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. They also just came out with an Unscented version I’m going to pick up next time, as well as a more natural one with tapioca starch.

winter-blend-haircareLast but not least, and maybe most importantly, what you’re washing your hair with makes a big difference. When my scalp is dry and itchy, and when I’m washing it less often, I like to go with a minty, clean feeling shampoo. One that will get my scalp really clean, but will also nourish and protect it. I am IN LOVE with this *Winter Blend Shampoo and Conditioner from Maple Holistics, because it checks every single box on that list! It’s made for all hair types, has 5 different mint varieties- which smell amazing (like minty fresh breath for your scalp!), and contains essential oils that moisturize and hydrate your hair. The ingredients are a lot cleaner than other brands, and it gives me that fresh and clean feeling that I’m craving- especially if I’m only shampooing once or twice a week. BONUS- I just checked and it’s on sale right now! They also have a Free Samples Program if you’re looking to try out new products.

So, if you’ve been looking for tips and tricks to help your luscious locks this Winter, give these products a try. I also suggest finding a great hair mask, but I am still on the lookout for one. Let me know if you have one that you love.
