BookShark Level 2 Hands on History – Mrs. Bishop

*I received the BookShark curriculum and Hands On History Kit in exchange for sharing our homeschooling journey with you. All opinions are my own.*

I preach all the time about how the best way for my little guy to learn is by DOING. He likes to get his hands dirty. Building and crafts are his jam. Moving and shaking is his language. That’s why we love these Hands on History kits SO much. They allow us to really get ‘hands-on’ with what we’re learning. They’re so much fun and a great way to help what we’re learning about to stick.

Hands on History

This year we’ve already learned about Vikings and done really simple projects (with very little parental involvement- whoop!) Like, making our own runes.

All the way to some really extensive ones- like building and decorating our own Viking Jewel boxes.

I love that some projects Steven can do completely independently. He’s been known to check the schedule, grab the next project and get started on his own. Others are a little more work and we can do them together. I say it again and again- sometimes I truly believe that I’m learning as much as he is!

Our latest project- a signet ring was a little bit of both. He designed and made it all on his own. All I had to do was pop it in the oven for a few moments. He had a blast with it, making his a Science beaker…his favorite subject. He wears it proudly around the house now, showing everyone what he has made.

If your child is crafty- this kit is for you. Maybe they’re little History buffs- it’s for them too! And if they’re like my kid- known to never stop moving and always wanting something to do with their hands- it’s especially for those kids!

BookShark Makes it Easy!

I like to be crafty myself, and come up with my own projects on occasion. But, BookShark really makes it easy on me, coming up with these amazing kits. It’s one less thing off of my always overflowing plate, and for that I am eternally grateful. The more help this Homeschool Mom can get, the better!

If your curriculum is starting to feel a little dry and you need a dash of fun- try adding in one of these kits. BookShark has them for Level K, Level 1 and Level 2 now. They’re getting more and more fun stuff all of the time- there are even some really cool hands-on lap books for the upper grades! {I’m hoping to snag one of these U.S Elections Lap Book Kits to do along with the presidential election next year.}

Is your child a hands-on learner? What are some fun ways you help them to learn?
